The second documented case of needle track implantation of tumor after percutaneous biopsy of an adenocarcinoma of the lung is presented. This complication is so rare that a return to the prior skepticism that surrounded this procedure is not justified. On the other hand, the currently prevailing atmosphere of widespread enthusiasm should not lead to adoption of the use of percutaneous needle biopsy in clearly operable patients in view of the real hazard of local dissemination of tumor.
