Much of our understanding of cerebrovascular diseases is derived from anecdotal observations or from study of relatively small series of cases. In recognition of this and of the importance of achieving an informed background for continuing developments in the diagnosis and management of cerebrovascular diseases, the National Institutes of Health have sponsored large cooperative studies into several aspects of these diseases. This book presents a body of information based upon the records of 6,368 cases of intracranial aneurysm and subarachnoid hemorrhage provided by 20 cooperating centers from January 1958 to June 1965.
