There has long been a truism in American neurologic circles that English neurologists write clearly, succinctly, and interestingly. The same can be said of English neurochemists. Although there are nine authors contributing to this book, there is none of the repetition and overlap usually associated with multiple authorship.
Part I (Anatomical and Chemical Structure) contains a chapter by Cragg on gross, microscopic, and ultramicroscopic anatomy of the nervous system and a chapter by Dickerson on the composition of "nervous tissues." Part II (Metabolic Biochemistry) includes a discussion by Neame of transport, metabolism, and pharmacology of amino acids; Denison writes about
