Until recently penicillin was available in so small an amount as to be for most people a medical curiosity; only a few isolated patients were able to benefit by it. Another series of papers in this week's JOURNAL provides further evidence of the tremendous strides made by the pharmaceutical industry, which is now putting penicillin at the disposal of medical men working in widely varying fields. For these supplies we are largely indebted to our American friends, who have won the third victory in the penicillin
