In examining the health problems in a variety of occupations, Dr. Mayers considers the potential hazards encountered by employees, the engineering and medical control measures utilized by progressive management, the anatomic and physiological considerations of workers, and the health problems caused by uncontrolled environments. Because of the large number of occupations considered, Dr. Mayers has only skimmed the surface. However, at the end of each chapter are references for readers desiring more in-depth information on specific subjects.
This book could serve as a text for an introductory course. Private physicians could find it useful in assessing the role the patient's
