The fourth reported case of infectious mononucleosis with onset during the course of acute leukemia and the first patient with myeloblastic leukemia in which titers to Epstein-Barr (EB) virus were found coincident with the appearance of heterophil antibodies are presented. No conclusions could be drawn as to how the course of one disease might have been affected by the other. The patient's infectious mononucleosis may have responded to antileukemic therapy. The serologic findings provide additional evidence that EB virus may cause infectious mononucleosis.
