Morgan and Engel's The Clinical Approach to the Patient1 discusses patients and physicians and what goes on between them in relating to the patient's problem. This is not lip service about the bedside manner and the art of medicine but an objective and didactic study for students who want to learn an approach to illness as a human phenomenon.
