The author has placed great emphasis on the histologic, light microscopic, and electron microscopic description of conditions leading to acute oliguric renal failure. The photomicrograph reproductions are excellent and are explained in detail both in the text and in the legends. However, the organization of the text is somewhat confusing and uneven, with chapters that are too long and all-encompassing. Consequently, an undue amount of repetition occurs throughout.
