Can tubercle bacilli be made extinct? Even in the most advanced countries they are not. Mycobacterium tuberculosis still occurs, often embarrassingly, in all of our large American hospitals. It is Dr. J. Arthur Myers' theme that we would have less tuberculosis in man if we followed more consistently the lead of veterinarians in using large-scale tuberculin testing for obtaining information essential for control.
