With this issue the fifteenth volume of Advances in Internal Medicine has embarked on a new editorial policy and format. As stated by the editor, Dr. Gene H. Stollerman, the goals of this volume are to present in a condensed manner the most relevant, new scientific information pertaining to clinical medicine; to provide new insight into human biology and pathophysiology; and to distill this information from the literature in such a way that it can be readily applied by every internist in his own practice.
