This monograph is intended "to provide an introduction to the fundamental principles of hematology. In its development the interest of third or fourth-year medical students" is the chief concern. However, it is probably more valuable to the intern, resident, or internist who seeks rapid background knowledge to be followed by major reference texts and current literature.
The presentation of material is straight-forward, simplified, readable, and easy to understand. The author describes principles of hematology with the emphasis on laboratory hematology. The sections dealing with clinical disease and disease states are abbreviated and thereby necessarily sketchy. All the chapters are concise
