To the Editor: We were very pleased to see in the April 1970 issue of the ANNALS recognition of the fact that gonorrhea and its complications still constitute a medical problem in this country. The review on gonorrhea by Drs. Schroeter and Pazin (Ann Intern Med 72:553-559, 1970) is an excellent one. We would like to reinforce the statement that the antibiotic treatment of gonococcal arthritis should be continued for 10 to 14 days and that penicillin in the range of 5 to 10 million units be given.
