A case of posttraumatic axillary vein thrombosis in an otherwise healthy young man gave rise to rapidly progressive obstructive pulmonary hypertension, a result of recurrent thromboembolism. The syndrome is clinically rare and should be considered in the differential diagnosis of recurrent pulmonary thromboembolism.
