Although genetic counseling has attained considerable prominence in medical practice during the past few years, comprehensive sources of information in this field have been very limited. There are numerous compendia of genetic diseases, ranging from the very useful catalogue of McKusick to the multivolumed Human-genetik, a "short handbook" now being published in German, but none of these deal with the theoretical or practical problems of counseling. Therefore, this book by Stevenson, Davison, and Oakes should be of interest to all who are concerned with such problems.
