From so impressive a network of authority nothing less than a complete study is to be expected, that is, a thoroughgoing exposition of the chemical, pharmacological, psychological, and physiological aspects of the problem of drug dependence, augmented and supported by clinical, experimental, and laboratory approaches to each. The physiological functions of drug use and the pharmacology of dependence are indeed discussed, as is the phenomenon of withdrawal after establishment of dependence.
