Any effort to teach the undergraduate medical student the minimal basic essentials of a circumscribed area of medicine is commendable. Such is the implied intent of this book, which consists of 10 chapters with the following titles: The Interpretation of Chest Radiographs; Carcinoma of the Bronchus; The Management of Pulmonary Tuberculosis; Disturbances of Immunity (2 chapters); Vascular Disorders of the Lung; Emphysema, Bullae, Blebs and Cysts; The Care of the Ambulatory Patient With Chronic Airways Obstruction; Sarcoidosis; and Pneumoconiosis. These titles cover the essential elements of chest disease and should give a foundation on which the medical student can build
