Intended primarily for medical students, this book is a general overview of the broad field of psychiatry; it is also directed to physicians, including psychiatrists, as an aid in reviewing for board examinations.
The book is divided into four sections, the major part consisting of descriptions of clinical psychiatric entities. Others deal with "Psychodynamics, Personality Development, Examination and Classification," "Treatment" and miscellanous topics. In its scope and orientation it is not greatly different from many other psychiatric texts. In several respects, however, it falls short of several excellent books of a similar nature.
