In organization and depth this book resembles a Ph.D. thesis. It begins with a review of the various aspects of bone tissue metabolism—collagen, ground substance, and mineral. Chapter 2 outlines the clinical approach to bone tissue metabolism, distribution, and excretion, and Chapter 3 gives a detailed description of the methods used in the studies reported in the last two chapters. In Chapters 4 and 5 studies on two groups of cancer patients are reported, those without evidence of bone destruction and those with bone lesions.
