A familiar and still pocket-sized manual of medical and surgical pediatrics. Two chapters are credited to other authors: one on fluid and electrolyte disorders by Robert W. Winters; and another on emotional problems by Ruth S. Kempe.
This relatively inexpensive book is a good investment for the internist who infrequently needs a convenient reference for pediatric drug dosages, poisoning management, and not well recalled pediatric syndromes and diseases—for example, while serving as a summer camp physician. It is not a substitute for more exhaustive guides such as Current Pediatric Therapy. Students should continue to find it useful in organizing their
