The author has obviously taken his own large clinical experience and formulated an approach to patients and their problems that will be very helpful to all clinicians—pediatricians, endocrinologists, and internists. The text is divided into three major categories: weight, height, and sex problems. In the form of a very concise summary he has listed the many obscure and common alternatives to various endocrine diagnoses. What is perhaps more significant is that he has emphasized the emotional impact of these many problems on the patients, be they physiologic variants or a reflection of endocrine or other illness.
