The second edition of The Red Cell is a greatly expanded revision of a text that has been an important source of information for both students and teachers since it was first published in 1963. The first three chapters deal with both normal and pathological aspects of the production of the constituents of the red cell. These chapters are particularly oriented to physiology and constitute perhaps the most valuable part of this excellent text.
