The third edition of this book maintains the tradition of excellence established by the earlier editions. Certain of the many notable features deserve special comment. The enlarged section on examination of infants and children underlines the wealth of information that can be obtained from noncommunicating patients by the knowledgeable use of relatively simple maneuvers and techniques. The background of and testing methods for speech, listening, and reading disorders are detailed in an expanded and scholarly chapter.
