The chief virtue of this symposium lies in the timeliness of its review of the interfaces of hormones and the immune response. Knowledge of this field has increased so rapidly in recent years that there is a need to assimilate the data obtained by various workers into some sort of overall conceptual scheme by which application and future investigative efforts into the field can be better understood. Unfortunately, such a continuity and developing philosophy is not evident in this work. As with many symposia, the work can best be described as a collection of loosely related papers, with significant variation
