This is an important book. Its topic is important because the skin often provides helpful clues about major systemic illness and because many physicians have such limited vocabulary in "reading" the skin. It is important because Dr. Braverman has done such a fine job of selecting information and photographs. Many years have elapsed since the last major book on this subject appeared, and medical and publishing techniques have advanced greatly in those years.
The author describes and illustrates for the reader the variability of the morphologic expression of individual events in the skin. An important mark of the better "reader"
