The problems of patients with chronic renal disease and the need for continuity of management, using conservative treatment, hemodialysis, and transplantation, are the concepts presented in this monograph, which attempts to give perspective to the internist who will care for patients with progressive renal disease. The first 10 chapters try to give an overview of all of the problems of renal disease. Specific organ system manifestations of chronic renal failure are treated in subsequent chapters.
