In a short work such as this it is impossible to cover adequately the wide gamut of exfoliative cytology in sufficient depth for it to serve as a reference. The author presents his personal findings and opinions, derived from a relatively small service of exfoliative cytology; these are of considerable comparative interest but insufficiently exhaustive to provide a source of reference. The text is a condensed summary. In some sections, notably the discussion of the malignant cell in the first chapter, a good basic review and reasonable list of references is presented. More weight could have been given to the
