The authors, all experimental pathologists, present selected topics in general pathology. Each author concentrates on an area in which he has worked; these areas are also the ones in which the newer techniques of research have led to the most significant developments in recent years. Thus, 87 pages are devoted to cell injury and cell death, whereas disturbances of circulation, degenerative changes, chemical injury, and the deficiency diseases are not covered. Physical agents in the causation of disease, the effects of irradiation, and metabolic diseases are only briefly mentioned.
