Exercise treatment of patients with coronary artery disease is a very controversial subject. The authors skirt the controversy by presenting their ideas for a rational approach to exercise therapy to the practicing physician. In an abbreviated style, they present a review of data that supports their approach and outline a program of graded exercise, methods of selection of patients for this program, and monitoring techniques.
In a way, one might consider this monograph to be a slightly expanded article rather than a book. The presentation is brief for the monumental amount of work that has been done in this field.
