To the editor: I wish to correct a statement made by Dr. Morris Ziff in his recent article, "Viruses and Connective Tissue Diseases" (1). In his review of the literature on delayed hypersensitivity in systemic lupus erythematosus, he stated that "Goldman and colleagues observed normal skin test responses to PPD and to Candida. . . ." In reviewing their abstract (2) I find no mention of tests of their patients with PPD. I call attention to this seemingly minor oversight by Dr. Ziff only because an interesting finding is emerging from the current literature—namely, that patients with lupus erythematosus are
