It seems reasonable to hope that widespread understanding and application of available therapeutic knowledge about the hyperlipidemic states will result in a significant reduction of morbidity and mortality from coronary heart disease and the other clinical manifestations of atherosclerosis. This book provides much of the metabolic, nutritional, and clinical information needed to launch a program for the effective prevention and therapy of the hyperlipidemic states.
