As the authors state in the preface, one of the major purposes of their book is to challenge the reader to evaluate better the immunologic status of the patient due for kidney transplant. The authors present their point of view clearly and briefly. All aspects of transplantation are well summarized and skillfully combined with their experience. This interweaving of information from many sources is both the strength and the major problem of this monograph.
