This book contains the proceedings of the First International Congress on Sudden Death, held in Florence, Italy, 10 to 14 February 1969. Professor Lapiccirella was the inspiration and organizer of this memorable congress, whose participants included physicians, surgeons, educators, authors, religious exponents, poets, philosophers, pathologists, physiologists, and biologists from worldwide centers of learning.
