Genetic influence on endocrine function has been a prominent area for investigative interest and development of useful clinical information over the past several years. Rimoin and Schimke have systematically put this information together into a very useful book. The text is extensively documented, with a well-selected bibliography that includes many publications of historical interest as well as those as current as present publishing schedules allow. This format makes the reading rather heavy going in spots but greatly increases the value of the book as a reference source.
