Although designed to provide a clear and concise introduction to pharmacologic concepts and principles for "students and practitioners of the health professions," this somewhat expanded new edition is rather complete in scope if not in detail. New chapters on principles of immunopharmacology, serotonin and antiserotonins, and kinins and prostaglandins, as well as an enlarged discussion and table of significant drug interactions in a separate chapter, are stimulating and useful additions. Some pharmacologists and specialists will undoubtedly feel that the treatment of certain drugs is too brief, but the book is well balanced overall, and the usually judicious selection of pertinent
