The author in his introduction asks a pertinent question: why another book on the thyroid? He answers this question by stating that his contribution should be unique either in content or format. He further states "if what he has to say is not entirely new, at least somehow it should be organized to provide more efficient utilization of the information by the reader." Unfortunately these goals are not achieved.
