All but 2 of the 38 chapters of this considerably revised and expanded sixth edition have been written by Dr. Domonkos. He has attempted to cover in 1027 pages (including the Index) some 1400 diseases of the skin and provide almost 1200 illustrations. Both the strengths and the weaknesses of this book flow from this format.
Perhaps the greatest strength of this book derives from the unity and internal consistency and lack of excessive duplication that results from single authorship.
Two of the most recent major texts in dermatology have multiple authors and are about 2000 pages in length each.
