At a time when the attention of many workers in nuclear medicine is once more turning to kinetic considerations employing a variety of computer systems it is appropriate that reference books be available that review the fundamentals of tracer methods. This book attempted a very broad review of tracer methodology. Chapters cover the definition of a tracer, various tracer types, detection instruments, fundamental mathematics and mathematical manipulations, statistical methods, data presentation, line fitting, experimental design, mathematical development of tracer kinetics, and quantitative examples of biomedical kinetics.
