Thirty-five lectures and papers that were to have been given in February 1972 at the Royal College of Physicians in a conference that was cancelled because of a strike-generated power shortage. These reviews are relatively short and are highly readable. The scope of topics is so wide that it cannot be adequately described in a short note. Highlights include new developments in Vitamin D, viral hepatitis, viral vaccines, chronic hepatitis, immunology of liver disease, current topics in clinical pharmacology (such as therapeutic use of plasma concentrations, drug interactions), immunology of vasculitis, and surgery for arthritides. Recommended for clinical libraries. The subject and author indexes are cumulative for volumes 1 through 7.
