In the 6 years since the previous edition of this book significant advances have been made in the understanding of most of the diseases described; this progress is excellently documented in this eighth edition, which includes 12 new chapters, 18 rewritten chapters, and 31 extensively revised chapters. The 2 main editors and the 10 section editors are to be congratulated for coordinating the work of 64 contributors, each of whom is a recognized authority on his subject; the result is a detailed, well-referenced, and coherent description of "rheumatic disease."
Each chapter is an up-to-date, well-balanced account of a different aspect
