This monograph includes information related to basic principles, methods of recording, normal sounds and pulses, and abnormalities of sounds and murmurs. Other areas covered are clinical application of the carotid pulse, apexcardiograms, and jugular pulse. This second edition includes a new chapter of exercises of unlabeled tracings, which is followed by a discussion of the graphic features and clinical evaluation of each. I found this latter chapter to be of particular importance.
The subject matter is clear and easy to understand. The author has avoided discussions of theoretical or nonclinical material. The illustrations are well selected and are clearly reproduced,
