Dr. Grossman should be congratulated for having written a book dealing with a neglected subject correctly described by him as the "dying art" of diagnostic gross pathology. Having done so, I take issue with the author for not having written a much more comprehensive text. Unfortunately, in its sketchy, oversimplified form, this primer gives us just a glimpse of what a book on gross pathology could be like.
The book starts with a chapter on historical aspects, which uses 9 of its 64 text pages. This is obviously out of proportion to the very much reduced size of the text.
