To the editor: The April 1973 issue (pp. 624-625) includes a review of Dr. A. J. Zuckerman's Hepatitis-Associated Antigen and Viruses, by Dr. W. Thomas London. Quite injudiciously, we believe, Dr. London alleges that there exists what amounts to a conspiracy to be secretive among hepatitis workers—endorsed, if not supported, by United States governmental agencies, including the Center for Disease Control, and by the World Health Organization. He further states that Dr. Zuckerman intended to "counter this trend" by writing a book, one that all of us agree is a comprehensive status report on the astonishingly rapidly progressing field of
