This subject is certainly topical at this time. The causes and effects of pyelonephritis are redefined, with increased awareness of its underlying anatomic relation to vesicoureteral reflux, and put into excellent perspective by the authors. They effectively destroy the magical, undefined characteristics of the disease and outline its treatment in a concise manner. Urologists have believed for years that some underlying anatomic mechanism caused pyelonephritis.
