During the past 20 years immunological methods have been used to study mechanisms involved in various glomerulonephritides. The senior author of this book has not only witnessed but has also substantially contributed to this research. The book is an exposition of the authors' concept of immunological renal disease, based on extensive work with experimental models. The first and longest of its three sections deals with immune complex deposit glomerular disease. Once they have considered some basic immunologic phenomena, their lucid descriptions of several experimental models are the foundation for a unique classification of immune complex glomerulonephritis developed from their work
Immunopathology of the Renal Glomerutus. Immune Complex Deposit and Antibasement Membrane Disease.. Ann Intern Med. 1973;79:476. doi: 10.7326/0003-4819-79-3-476_2
