The reader who is interested in biology of the skeleton will find this book useful, especially if he is familiar with the author's previous volume, The Physiology of Bone. The scientific literature on this subject is not readily available to clinicians, because much of it is contained in technical reports published by research institutes such as the Argonne National Laboratory. The author methodically exposes the reader to the biologic problems first of external irradiation and then of internal irradiation from bone-seeking radionuclides.
