Since the mid 1960s new textbooks on dermatology have appeared with unusual regularity. Some of them have become very valuable to the practice of dermatology. Dermatology by Hall-Smith and collaborators, now appearing in second edition, is a review-outline for MB and MPCP candidates in the British Isles. As such, it is a brief, concise work written with clarity and precision. Most subjects are covered adequately for the purpose of the book, and the information is generally sound and current.
