A comprehensive compilation of numerical and descriptive data on amino acids, proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, nucleic acids, and minerals involved in microbial structure and function; also, additional tables useful in laboratory calculations and statistics. A minor fraction of the content (such as dissociation constants, roots, tables, specific gravity, buffers) overlaps with that in such handbooks as Handbook of Biochemistry and more general laboratory handbooks, but that will not lessen the value of this major reference source for clinical and research microbiological laboratories. Highly recommended.
