A very clear, compact survey of the concepts and methods in mathematical disciplines especially applicable in the medical sciences. Examples drawn from specific medical problems are infrequent, and this book is not likely to be useful as a practical guide to the solution of a particular problem. It will refresh the memory of the reader who has had undergraduate mathematics but has not put his knowledge to work in the laboratory; it will give the reader ignorant of any one of these disciplines a view of its scope and power.
