An older practicing physician recently commented, "There are no diagnostic problems, only therapeutic ones." In a way he is right. Diagnosis cannot stand alone or be an end in itself. Diagnosis can only be a means to an end. Although diagnosis can lead to actions by individuals and society that are quite varied (for example, excuse from military service or awarding of compensation for loss), diagnosis most commonly leads directly to treatment. And treatment is what Current Therapy 1974 is all about.
