This is the second of two volumes on anticonvulsant drugs, designed by their editor to describe the "slow and patient advance" in the treatment of epilepsy. This volume follows the format of the first, consisting of three further subsections of two chapters each, reviewing the neurophysiology and neurochemical mechanisms of action of anticonvulsant drugs, human pharmacology, and therapeutics. The last subsection has chapters on the medical treatment of epilepsy by Gastaut, Roger, and Lob; and one on epileptic and antiepileptic properties of psychotropic drugs by Itil and Myers.
With such brief chapters and comprehensive bibliographies, one might eagerly anticipate a
